-
Scrutineering – what and why
-
It
is a quick check that you and your vehicle comply to our rules and
regulations
-
It
includes a basic vehicle safety check, but we are NOT qualified to state
that you car is ‘safe’, that is YOUR responsibility
-
Scrutineers have the authority to exclude any vehicle or competitor. We
may discuss this with you but you will NOT win an argument so
keep your cool – we’ve got your safety at heart here.
-
Some recommendation, thoughts and
suggestions
-
Keep equipment secured so it doesn’t fly around and hit you
-
Remember the weather – windscreens, windows and heaters are very useful
in the Scottish winter
-
Helmets are increasingly considered essential in our sport but as a
Novice’s Competition we realise it is a serious expense for those
starting off so whilst they are recommended they are NOT compulsory
-
Consider some padding in the cab
-
Think about what you spend your money on. £100 spent on protecting
brakes and fuel lines may just save your life,
-
These competitions are as much a test of vehicle reliability as you it
is your ability. Prepare and test your vehicle in plenty of time.
